Moving on to a new blog

Hello…….wondering what happen to us? Mel and I have been busy preparing our wedding day this coming September. Also we have decided to restructure our photography work flow. From today onwards, I will be focusing more on photo shooting and getting in business, and Mel will be assisting the background support, such as doing the pre-wedding, wedding & portraiture album design and other administrative work.

So, we have move to a new home www.danielyap.com.

Sean Kuay and Brandy Tio Wedding (Melaka)

From Penang to Melaka, our mission traveling down to Melaka is to capture Sean and Brandy’s magical moment on their wedding day. We got up pretty early as the journey from Sean to Brandy’s place will take about an hour. Escorted by 4-5 cars, everyone is looking forward to pick the bride up, while at the same time feeling anxious the “challenges” lies ahead of them. Somehow the “brothers” managed to escape the ordeal (Sean being very generous by flowing as much Ang Pow as possible).

There’s so much fun and laughter from both of the families. Sean and Brandy are very loving too; there’s a continuous stream of kisses between them throughout the entire day. In short, the day is filled with happiness, cheers and good wishes to the bride and bridegroom. Our blessings are upon both of you. Here’s some the photos taken on the actual day.

Dog Photography – Bubbles & Orlly

I never knew pet photography could be equivalent challenging as baby photogrphy, till I have this awesome opportunity taking Ivy’s lovely “babies” – Bubbles and Orlly.

Both Ivy and Ronny are very loving couple as I can see they love their pet very much. There’s so much fun and a lot of patience involved – that’s getting Bubbles and Orlly attention to look at the camera; it is almost like pure luck. How I wish I could communicate with them in animal language – like Dr. Dolittle.

Lian Ping & Kah Yee Wedding

The day started with a gloomy weather and later on it rained, but nothing can stop this couple’s great occasion. Both of them shine out and warm up the place and day amazingly. Lian Ping is an engineer working in a MNC, while Kah Yee is a ballet teacher. We were able to witness so much fun and joy happening on that day, especially the “challenge” that the brothers got to go through – the ballet test. Sincerely saying, this is one of the best wedding photo taking assignment both Mel and I covered. Happy viewing.

Benji in timeless Penang street

Here’s another different photo series taken last Sunday with my male model, Benji. This time we wanted to do something more urban young executive photo shots. Before that, I have visualized some possible shots in my mind for him and it turns out pretty good. We started the photo taking as early as 6.30am morning and ended around 9am.

One thing I realize about Penang, that the streets have so much to offer to any photography enthusiast for any possible theme. A lot of creative shots can be taken, any time of the day.

Graduation Day – Winnie Chiang

~O Happy Day~ Another wonderful opportunity to be there to witness a church friend’s graduation day. When we are arrived around 8;45am, there were already a large crowds gathered at the graduation hall entrance. Friends and family members seize the opportunity to take photos on this great occasion.

Few days before that, I already have some visual images I would like to capture Winnie’s graduation day. The only challenge I got to deal with is the low light environment and it wasn’t easy to deal with. Maybe it’s also about time to consider investing a higher performance lens.

Here’s the highlights of the event that ended around 2pm in the afternoon at Equatorial Hotel Penang. And I wish Winnie all the best in her career endeavor.

Benji in Lens Action

He is good looking, natural and fun person to be with. Above all, my camera lens just loves him to much. These are only a few of his photo shots taken a few days ago. If you are looking for a male model in any sort of photography, I would like recommend him and he is ready for hire most of the time. By the way, he works in one of the MNC in Penang and this is just his part time (for now). Let me know if you wish to reach him.

Hoe Soon and Tze Hooi Wedding

This time we went to Taiping a day before the actual wedding day. Both Tze Hooi and Hoe Soon are our working place colleagues and feel honour to take part in this very meaningful day. Both of thier friends are very “happening” and friendly too. There’s lots of laughters from the begining till the end of the weddig event. It is one of our most enjoyable wedding assignment we ever took. We also make some friends who use DSLR to capture this memorable moment. Here’s the photos and Youtube video we would like to share.

Mel and I had a great opportunity to capture these wonderful couple from Singapore early this month. Victor loves Penang old architectural as it has the special unique colors that is no longer found in most modern cities. Jessie is simply gorgeous and stunning on that day as she has brighten up the day even though we experienced some rather wet day.
